Why you should have your Nissan Skyline 's Chassis
maintained..
Over a length of time, the original under-sealing on the chassis of your car will inevitably suffer from stone chips, corrosion and routine wear and tear. If this is left unchecked, it can cause structural damage and weaken the chassis. This can lead to costly chassis repairs.
The original powder coating on the chassis will
inevitably suffer from stone chips and routine wear and tear
over a length of
time.
This causes the chassis’s corrosion defence to be breached
causing corrosion. If this is left unchecked, it can cause major
structural damage and weaken the chassis. This will lead to very
costly chassis repairs.
-
Your vehicle is lifted on to high level jacks to aid visual
inspection.
-
All wheels are removed to avoid harming alloy wheel polish with
chemicals .
-
The chassis is sprayed with a strong chemical cleaner to remove
road debris, dirt, grease and oil .
-
The chemical is steam cleaned off with a high pressure steam
cleaner, using up to (80psi) to ensure a clean surface.
-
Chassis is hand prepared to remove any loose powder
coating and
rust.
-
A full report of the chassis is given to you in cases where the
corrosion is extensive
-
Rusted, non painted parts of the chassis are treated with a
self etching anti corrosion primer.
The vehicle's Chassis is then fully re-sprayed with Hammerite™ paint and then
coated with Tectyl Wax and left to dry fully. Valvoline's Tectyl
products, designed for short-term or long-term protection for
both indoor and outdoor use, help protect metal surfaces from
the damaging effects of moisture, chloride and stubborn
corrosion.
How Chassis maintenance benefits your Skyline ..
- Stronger chassis protection.
- Necessary to preserve your car for longer maintaining its
value.
- Lower cost procedure than replacing the chassis.
